Inviting the Relics to Your City

Our goal is for as many people as possible to benefit by being in the presence of the holy relics and by hearing Maitreya Project's message of loving-kindness.

Many dedicated people devote hours of their time and energy to organise a Relic Tour event for their community. The success of the Relic Tour is due to those people who have been genuinely inspired by these relics and want to bring those blessings into the lives of others. We want to say thank you with all our hearts to those who have had the vision and generosity to offer this incredible opportunity to others. We absolutely could not do this without your help!
We have developed a comprehensive hosting pack about preparing for and promoting a visit of the relics. This includes a Venue Checklist, Volunteer Information Sheet, promotional flyer saved on disk, press release, colour images of the relic display, DVD, colour brochures and news articles from past events. You can also direct journalists to the Press & Media section of this site where there are downloadable images of the relics.
The Relic Tour is non-sectarian. We encourage local hosts
to invite all the local temples, churches and spiritual groups
to join in the event and to have an Opening
Ceremony. During the Ceremony, prayers for world peace, harmony and loving-kindness
to arise in the hearts of all people are offered in the presence of the relics.
Here is how one visitor in the USA described his experience of the Opening Ceremony –
"Over the course of the evening I was moved to tears several times. The first time, I looked next to me at a woman who was positioned about 20 feet away. She had tears streaming down her face as well and when our eyes met we looked at one another and we just knew... . "
Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Spiritual Director of Maitreya Project, has advised that everyone should be able to experience the blessings of the relics for free. There is no entrance charge to any of our events. Visitors may offer a donation to the Maitreya Project, and brochures with colour images of the relics and information about each of the masters are available by donation. We also offer postcards, posters, DVDs and other souvenirs.
